WHY CHOOSE THE CORTEX COLLECTIVE?

The Cortex Collective was created to support people who are exhausted by systems, misunderstanding and constantly having to translate themselves.

Many clients arrive feeling overwhelmed, burnt out or frustrated after years of trying to navigate schools, workplaces, healthcare systems and support services that never quite felt like the right fit.

The name reflects the beautifully complex ways humans think, process, feel and experience the world — particularly neurodivergent brains.

The word Collective reflects the belief that meaningful support rarely happens in isolation. Positive change is often strengthened through collaboration between clients, families, schools and support professionals.

What Makes This Different?

Amanda’s background across education, counselling and neurodivergent support allows her to understand not only the individual, but also the wider systems surrounding them.

This includes understanding and navigating:

  • education systems

  • family dynamics

  • medical and allied health supports

  • disability support systems including NDIS and DSP processes

  • government and community support services

Alongside the impact of:

  • nervous system overwhelm and burnout

  • communication differences

  • self-advocacy fatigue

As a neurodivergent professional herself, Amanda understands the unspoken sense of recognition and connection that many neurodivergent people experience when interacting with someone who genuinely "gets it".

For many clients, that feeling of safety and understanding can be the difference between simply attending support and actually being able to engage in it.

The Goal

The Cortex Collective aims to create spaces where clients and families feel:

  • understood

  • respected

  • supported

  • empowered

  • safe to show up as themselves without needing to constantly explain or justify their experiences
